Skagen, Denmark
Situated at the northernmost point of Denmark, Skagen is a small, bright breezy port where the Baltic and the North Sea meet. This is a short visit as we head from here to Norway via the North Sea. A charming town perfectly suited for a stroll through some local shops and cafes famous for yellow houses with red-tiled roofs. It is a popular destination for Danish and international tourists alike.
Our ship Journey is almost an exact replica of the Onward, our vessel for the World Cruise in 2024. We recognize a few of the crew members from that cruise and are familiar with the layout and routines — feeling at home. We’re signed up for meals in the specialty restaurants and planning our excursions and spa treatments. We’ve been blessed by Azamara’s generous credits from the rerouting away from the Red Sea last year, so have splurged on a suite that is spacious and situated on the aft end of the ship affording us 180 degrees views. We’re definitely living the dream!
Body clocks are a little messed up with sundown happening about 10 pm and sunrise around 4:30 am. Can’t really tell directions without any landmarks like mountains!
