Laramie, Wyoming

It was an honor to attend a memorial service for Darryl Alleman at the Cheyenne National Cemetary on Friday. The Wyoming blue skies and windswept space is a fitting resting place. National cemeteries are inspiring, sacred spots to honor great American veterans like Darryl, who served in the US Air Force, was a UW Cowboy football team captain, a civil engineer and father of four proud children. The military honors included a solemn flag presentation and warm remembrances from the beloved family, including our dear friends Dave and Carrie Alleman. What an amazing legacy Darryl and life well-lived!

A weekend on the Meade’s ranch outside Laramie was a gift — two bucolic days of perfect Wyoming weather (only a light breeze!), wide‑open views of the Snowy Range, and the Laramie River bordered by acres of pasture. The well‑kept cattle and handsome horses looked entirely at ease under the watchful eye of a bald eagle circling overhead. Hunter DeBerard prepped his show animals for the upcoming county fair.

A jaunt to Karen and Tom Gabriel’s mountain hideaway in Fox Park included a stop at the famous Woods Landing. Such a fun, scenic place for family and friends handmade by the creative and talented Tom.
