Squabetty seems to be a well-kept secret from the locals, but this secluded spot is the perfect location for a sweet gathering of family and friends for a wedding of two rock-climbing, skiers who adore each other and open spaces, granite mountains, forests, clear streams and wildlife. The Deane family homesteaded the hundreds of acres at the base of Mt. Mansfield around 1636 from the Wesquabenanset people and nicknamed it Squabetty. There’s a sprawling cozy farmhouse and a classic post-and-beam barn, a pool and sauna, lovely views and a rough dirt road to get there — good thinking to rent a four-wheel drive jeep! Now, Squabetty is an idyllic retreat and venue for reunions and weddings, we have come to celebrate a sacred union of Soren and Asha.
