The happiest countries in the world, according to the 2025 World Happiness Report, are:

1. Finland (ranked #1 for the eighth year in a row)

2. Denmark

3. Iceland

4. Sweden

5. Israel

6. Netherlands

7. Norway

8. Luxembourg

9. Switzerland

10. Australia

Why are these countries so happy? The rankings are based on factors such as :

Social support — Strong communities and trust in institutions

Healthy life expectancy– Good healthcare systems and overall well-being

Freedom to make life choices – High levels of personal autonomy

Generosity – A culture of helping others

Low Corruption

We’ll add our own ingredients for happiness as we explore some of the Scandinavian countries in the coming weeks.
