Astounding Petra

There are few words that can describe the images of Petra, the colors of the centuries of stone layers and the human-created archaeological sites, ancient tombs and dwellings are truly awe-inspiring. Being at this point was a long-time dream and a rare privilege. The gorgeous light, arriving at the perfect time in the morning for sunshine on the most famous building, The Treasury, was the result of a perfectly planned visit thanks to Tauck Tours. It couldn’t have been better due to the lack of other visitors. Due to the war, many tourists have cancelled their tours and we practically had the place to ourselves — unheard of — like a private tour! We are so pleased that we came and the Jordanian hosts have been delightful, grateful and gracious.

Wadi Rum is like desert surrounded by striking rock formations. The sandstorm created a surreal atmosphere and great photographs! Camels seem to be as friendly as the Jordanian people.

The church on the spot where Moses stood to take in the promised land, inspiring place where we prayed for peace.
